The YMF and You
As emerging Civil Engineers take the final steps to fully enter the professional world, the Younger Member Forum (YMF) is here to provide resources, support, and opportunities.
"I just started my first job, how can I stay in good standing and get ahead to start my Civil career right?"
"I've been at my job for 5 years and need opportunities to show my boss that I can take on more responsibilities. What can I do?"
"I'm taking on more challenges at work and would like to connect with like-minded individuals who are also on their grind. How do you handle the stresses of career advancement?"
The YMF has a wealth of knowledge and connections to provide just about anything a young career professional may need. Come and network with us to find out what we can do for you!

This YMF is has a lot key benefits that contrast those of our brother organizations in Los Angeles and Orange Counties - primarily, while they may be larger organizations, we focus on more personal connections between our members. This YMF has a lot of what I like to call "Heavy Hitters" or "Titans". They're steadfast, highly intelligent, hard-working, well connected, and successful engineers. They have advanced far in their careers; having reached leadership and key strategic positions in their organizations. All that, and they still haven't aged out of the YMF cohort. The best part is that they're eager to share their knowledge with emerging civil engineers. We just need more engineers that want to grow. New members would do well to take advantage of this network to advance their own careers by connecting with the Titans of San Bernardino and Riverside!
Our Initiatives
What We Offer
Networking Events
Almost all events, including the General Meetings, are networking events! Nonetheless, we set up plenty of opportunities specifically for our professionals to make new connections and expand their horizons.
Skills Development
We host workshops and offer countless opportunities to develop soft skills like communication, leadership, and time management. The only thing missing from these opportunities is a young engineer with a positive growth mindset!
Community Engagement
From K-12 outreach, university engagements, and charity events, come join this YMF to give back to the community! This is how we show our thanks and appreciation for the opportunities we have and how we can help make new opportunities for the next generation!
Mentorship Opportunities
Come and connect with your local San Bernardino and Riverside engineers. You might find someone with the wisdom you need to make this community your second home!

Educational Seminars
Explore the ASCE's expansive library of educational materials with us as we make the most of our memberships!
Career Guidance
Connect with more expereinced engineers in your field but not in your immediate company who can provide recommendations on how to handle and prepare for your career's challenges.
